If having problems swiping, try to turn on "Chuck Norris" mode (Threshold: 10, Min distance: 10, Swipe max off path: 1000)
If you hold your phone in your left hand, try moving the Surface Button close to where your thumb rests for 1-handed use
For those with volume rockers on the side of the phone (most of us, no?), try moving the Surface Button to the middle of the volume. The volume rockers are positions to be in a natural place for a reason.
If you 'memorize' where your Surface Button is (or can find it 'cause of the last tip), try changing the Trigger Icon = None and the Shape Kind = None. This gives you an invisible Surface Button that still works!
I dunno about all lock screens, but the Surface Button shows on Widget Locker. Try to set Widget Locker slide = None (ie, no iPhone or Sense or any unlock slider). Then use your Surface Button to 'unlock' your screen. If you unlock with a "Last Task" swipe, it goes back to last open thing, just like unlocking would do.
You CAN move the surface button away from the edge of the screen if you like with the horizontal & vertical offsets to give you swipes in all 4 directions (in addition to regular click & click/hold)
I would like to note on the widget locker. I am currently working on integrating the proper requests into my app so you will have an option for widget locker for both lock and widget mode. I am also close to releasing v1.5 so I will take another look at these tips you provided to update them where necessary. I may include in a tutorial for first time users as well :)
