Java.lang.SecurityException Error
  • jbowdrejbowdre February 2011
    Howdy,

I've noticed that a small handful of apps consistently fail to be launched by Clutch's recent apps list. The most recent one that I've encountered is Lookout, a mobile security suite.

When I click on Lookout's icon from the recent apps list, I receive the following popup message (or something similar, it disappears pretty quickly):

    java.lang.SecurityException: Permission Denial: starting Intent {flg=0x10300000 cmp=com.lookout/.ui.Dashboard } from ProcessRecord{40d45eb8 9053:com.stevealbright.clutch/10214} (pid=9053, uid=10214) requires null

I also captured the following in logcat:

    I/ActivityManager( 274): Starting: Intent { flg=0x10300000 cmp=com.lookout/.ui.Dashboard
    } from pid 7851
    W/ActivityManager( 274): Permission denied: checkComponentPermission() reqUid=10052
    W/ActivityManager( 274): Permission Denial: starting Intent { flg=0x10300000 cmp=com.look
    out/.ui.Dashboard } from ProcessRecord{40e39cb8 7851:com.stevealbright.clutch/10214} (pid=
    7851, uid=10214) requires null

    Hope this helps,
    John

Thanks for taking the time to post your log. I have ran into this problem and I "think" I have a fix. I have been working crazy the last few nights getting the new features of clutch completed and I still have yet to fix this. I will try to take a look at this tonight in the new build. I know what is causing the problem... just have to do some testing :)

Hang in there...new version is so close and you will NOT be disappointed! Thanks for your support...

    Hi Steve

Thnaks for a great product. I was hoping to use it for live presentations but I'm experiencing quite a bit of java exceptions or straight crashing since the upgrade.

In particular, switching between two of my favourite apps, Google Maps (which throws up the java exception) and Aerial Paint (which throws up the crashes.) Is there an older version available to test? I didn't have this prob before I upgraded.

    Best

    Adam
